Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) FAQ
What is MFA?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your GG Mobile Gamers account. Each time you sign in, you may be asked to enter a verification code. You can choose to receive the code by text message or generate it through an authentication app on your phone. Once the code is entered correctly, you will be signed in securely with added protection for your account.
Setting Up MFA
Download and install an authentication app.
Before setting up MFA, you will need an authentication app installed on your device. GG Mobile Gamers supports most Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication apps. Some popular options include:
iPhone: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy, 1Password
Android: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy
Windows Phone: Microsoft Authenticator, Duo Mobile
Log in to your GG Mobile Gamers account, then go to Settings > Account.
Click on Security.
In the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click to begin the setup process.
Enter your password and click Next.
Scan the QR code using your authentication app.
Then enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app.
Click Activate to complete the setup.
Deactivating MFA
Log in to your GG Mobile Gamers account and go to Settings > Account.
Click on Security.
Enter the verification code from your authentication app and click Deactivate.
Unable to Activate MFA?
Try using Authy for MFA setup. It is available on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
Make sure your device is connected to the internet while using the app.
If you are using Google Authenticator, ensure that your device’s date and time are set to automatic.
Google Authenticator depends on your device having the correct time in order to generate valid codes. If the time is incorrect, the verification code may not work.
